WEEK 8: KINGDOM ENDURANCE: PERSEVERING THROUGH PERSECUTION
PASSAGE: Matthew 5:10
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Persecution is a reality for those who live according to Kingdom values, but it comes with the promise of reward and the presence of God. Endurance in the face of opposition is a sign of genuine discipleship.
Matthew 5:11-12 (Rejoice in Persecution): Jesus explicitly links this Beatitude to the broader theme of persecution, calling His followers to rejoice and endure when faced with opposition.
Matthew 7:13-14 (The Narrow Gate): The reality of persecution connects with the teaching on the narrow and difficult path that leads to life, underscoring the cost of true discipleship.
